A new Chicago-based cafe chain has debuted in the neighborhood. The new arrival to North Loop, called Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea, is located at 120 Third Ave. North.

The growing company — with additional locations in Chicago and downtown Los Angeles — serves up hot and cold coffee brews hand-picked from roasters throughout the country, as well as a variety of teas, espresso drinks and matcha.

"Our goal is to help you discover a new relationship with coffee and tea," says the company on its website, "thus we serve a 50/50 ratio of both coffee and tea."

Try nitro coffee on tap, organic teas like lavender Earl Gray, or one of the spot's specialty elixirs such as the Rainforest Remedy with matcha, frozen pineapple and coconut milk. (See the full drink menu here.)

Hungry? Breakfast is served all day and includes offerings like New York-style bagels with cream cheese, breakfast tacos with cage-free scrambled eggs, and a veggie breakfast sandwich consisting of black bean puree, avocado, caramelized tomato and more on an English muffin. (Check out the food menu here.)

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the new cafe seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Jonathan R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 15, wrote, "This Chicago-based cafe just opened in the North Loop. It's a large, open space with chill tunes and an amazing variety of pour-over, craft coffees and cold brews on tap."

"I ordered the Vietnamese cold brew and I was so pleased!" added Yelper Alina Y. "While they have regular drinks like lattes and americanos, they also have special drinks from coffee shops all over (even out of state)."

Head on over to check it out: Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea is open from 6:30 a.m.–8 p.m. on weekdays and 7:30 a.m.–8 p.m. on weekends.
