If you've got Mexican food on the mind, a recent opening in Medford is need-to-know. The newcomer, called Chimichurri's, is located at 478 High St.
Located in the former Depot Square Grill space, Chimichurri's offers "classic recipes from all over the wonderful country of Mexico, from Baja to the Yucatan," according to its website.
The menu is centered around tortas, burritos, tacos and quesadillas, with options like the adobada torta (with slow-cooked shredded pork drizzled in adobo sauce, melted Oaxaca cheese, lettuce, tomato and fresh avocado) and the Campechana burrito (with Spanish chorizo, carnitas, beans, lettuce, and tomatoes). Customers can order online for delivery.
With a 3.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, Chimichurri's has gotten an uneven response, but it's still early days.
Alex C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 5, wrote, "I was surprised how much I enjoyed the food. I had a torta campechana, which was delicious and might give Tenoch some competition. My wife tried a variety of tacos, which she thought were good."
Yelper Geoffrey Y. added, “Prices are pretty decent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu has some nice variety, but isn't overwhelming. I had the chorizo-queso burrito. Filling, but a little bland."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Chimichurri's is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
