Coffee fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Called Blue Bottle Coffee, the newcomer is located in the Pru, at 800 Boylston St., Suite 25 in Back Bay.
Founded in Oakland, California, this artisanal coffee roaster has made inroads across the nation after being acquired by Nestle. It describes its new location in the Pru (its third in the Boston area) as "Scandinavian Modern inspiration as a marriage of the ever-practical Ikea and hygge, the Danish concept of coziness, comfort, and contentment."
On the menu, you'll find classic espresso drinks made with the company's house roasts, as well as New Orleans-style iced coffee and cold brew. For non-coffee drinkers, there's hot chocolate, black or green tea, and Cascara Fizz, a sparkling soda made with the fruit that grows around coffee beans. Liege-style Belgian waffles are also on the menu.
Blue Bottle Coffee has just one review on Yelp, which gives it a five-star rating thus far.
Stephanie N., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on July 10, wrote, "Came here for their Community Day opening! Expert and friendly service, even with a super long line. We got a Columbian drip (his) and a mocha (mine), both of which tasted fresh and nuanced."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Blue Bottle Coffee is open from 6 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekdays, 7 a.m.–9 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday.
