A new popcorn shop has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Hyannis, called Smith Family Popcorn, is located at 545 Main St.
As its name suggests, this popcorn shop is owned by the Smith family, which developed a taste for the kernels over summer vacations in Ocean City, MD. They've since settled in Cape Cod, where a portion of their shop's proceeds benefits local organizations like the Rotary Club of Hyannis.
Popcorn lovers can order customizable tubs full of flavors both traditional and unusual, from classic cheese and sea salt caramel to quirky cookies and cream, taco or birthday cake.
The new popcorn shop has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
S A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 30, wrote, "Some of the best popcorn I've ever tasted. After leaving many dinners hungry from [the] lack of quality food joints on the Cape, I knew I could always come back to my hotel room to have some of this."
Yelper Mindy T. added, “Great addition to Main Street Hyannis. As their name says, this is a family-owned and operated business. The popcorn is delicious, and so many flavors to choose from."
And Michael C. wrote, "A super yummy treat for a quick snack. They have a great selection of fresh popcorn, including Birthday Cake! Staff is super friendly and helpful."
