A new daytime diner has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Jamaica Plain, called Little Dipper, is located at 669 Centre St.
The intimate space that was formerly the Centre Street Cafe now boasts a space theme, with a collection of model rockets hanging from the ceiling.
The menu, covering breakfast and lunch, is generally classic American diner food. Think pastries, pancakes and omelets with bacon, sausage and hash brown sides. Some elevated fare is also on offer, like the baked potato with bacon, poached eggs and a Welsh rarebit sauce.
It's still early days for the fledgling business, but it has earned five stars from five reviews on Yelp thus far.
Kelly O., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on July 15, wrote, "Perfect little JP brunch spot, complete with tasty food and caring owners. Definitely add this place to your brunch rotation. It's small though, so make sure to plan ahead (especially as it gets more popular)."
Sara M. added, "The menu is great and I ordered a breakfast sandwich with avocado, potatoes and fruit. The ice coffee comes in a little carafe with ice on the side. Everything was delicious. While I didn't try one my friends report the doughnuts are fantastic."
Head on over to check it out: Little Dipper is open from 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m. on Monday, Saturday and Sunday and 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday.
