A new men's hair salon has opened up shop in Cambridge. Located at 908 Massachusetts Ave. in Riverside, the fresh addition is called Temple of Groom.
This upscale new salon comes from Julio Guerrero (pictured), a native of the Dominican Republic who's been cutting hair since childhood, when he honed his styling skills on customers in his grandmother's backyard. Since 2012, he's been cutting hair in Cambridge, most notably at Troy Anthony's Barbershop.
In his new space, Guerrero aims to offer a luxe experience alongside the standard menu of cuts, beard trims and straight-razor shaves. The salon is decked out with elaborate wallpaper, antique lighting and sofas.
With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has made a good impression in the early going.
Adam G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 12, wrote, "My son loved his haircut and the decor. What a great experience. Julio is a very good barber who takes his time. He listened to what my son wanted."
Yelper Harry B. added, “Julio has been cutting my hair for years and his new place is a must visit. You can't beat the style — the place looks great and you'll look even better. I can't recommend this enough."
And Luke L. wrote, "I visited the Temple of Groom today and thought it was awesome. This is definitely where I'm going for my next haircut."
