A new spot to score poke and more has made its debut in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Lower Greenville, called Mamasan House of Poké, is located at 2818 N. Fitzhugh Ave.
The poke bowls on the menu include the ahi tuna with daikon, arugula, cashews and Hawaiian Red Sea salt; the chicken karaage with baby kale, cucumber, lime, watermelon radish and spicy mayo; and the kula pork with shiitake mushrooms, arugula, watermelon radish, pineapple, green onion cilantro pesto and cashews. Menu options can also be turned into a roll with a nori wrap and sushi rice. (See the full menu here.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp so far, Mamasan House of Poké has been warmly received by patrons.
Yelper Alec B., who reviewed it on June 30, said, "Poke nachos are ridiculously good. Even if you're not a big raw fish person, they have amazing pork chicken and beef options also. Really good teas and margaritas and the staff is very friendly."
And Jennifer J. wrote, "If you love poke, you will love Mamasan. First, its location and private parking lot make it super easy to get to and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The patio has huge fans to fight the Texas heat. The menu is simple, so there is no stress to ordering."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Mamasan House of Poké is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–midnight on Thursday-Saturday.
