A new breakfast and brunch spot specializing in bagels and Jewish cuisine has made its debut in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Calhoun, called Meyvn, is located at 901 W. Lake St.

Inspired by chef Adam Eaton and prolific restaurateur Tim Niver, this offering serves bagels, deli sandwiches, oysters and more. According to Eater Twin Cities, the goal is to "explore Jewish cuisine through the lens of fine dining in a restaurant that is mainly counter service." Reportedly, there is a full bar with cocktails that take advantage of the wood-burning oven. Look out for the Old Fashioned garnished with honey.

With a four-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, Meyvn has gotten a good response.

Amber S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 6, wrote, "I was ecstatic to find out a deli, bagel shop and Jewish cuisine-inspired restaurant was opening up in Uptown so I had to go as soon as it opened. I wanted a little bit of everything so we shared the everything bagel, green onion schmear and lox, ... hot pastrami sandwich ... tabbouleh and the falafel. "

Yelper Briana H. added, “I was excited to try the new bagel spot and it didn't disappoint. The Montreal style bagel is a bit softer yet still had a little bit of an outside crunch, very good!"

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Meyvn is open from 7 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 7 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Wednesday.)
