A new sushi bar has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 394 University Ave. W in the Midway area, the fresh arrival is called Monkon Sushi.
On the menu, offerings include the eight-piece Monkon Dragon roll with shrimp tempura, eel, avocado and spicy mayo, and a poke bowl that includes choice of tuna, salmon or yellowtail with ginger, garlic and sesame oil over sushi rice and cucumber. Appetizers and phở round out the menu.
There's just one review on Yelp thus far, which gives it four stars.
Zoua V., who reviewed the new eatery on May 25, wrote, "This is a sushi bar and restaurant. Excellent taste of food. Sushi is the best. There's a stage for karaoke. A lady was singing the whole time we were there. I would recommended this place."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Monkon Sushi is open from 5–10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.)
