Ice cream fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 24 District Ave. in North Dorchester, the new arrival is called JP Licks.

For most Bostonians, this popular ice cream chain needs no introduction, as it boasts 13 locations around the area. The South Bay outpost brings that number to 14, allowing locals to get their fix of popular scoops like coffee cookies and cream, black raspberry and maple walnut. Frappes, smoothies and sundaes are also in the mix.

The creamery also offers some rotating seasonal flavors, like margarita sorbet and chamoy-mango ice cream, as well as gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options. It serves espresso and coffee drinks with its own roasted beans, and offers ice cream cakes, pies and sundae party kits to go.

There's just one review on Yelp thus far, which gives it five stars.

Kim P., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on July 4, wrote, "I went at 10:00 in the morning on July 4th. Doesn't independence start with ice cream? Spacious place, and no line, though the nice woman who waited on us said it's really busy at night."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: JP Licks is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
