Looking to chow down on some Mexican fare? Look no further than a new addition to East Sacramento, called 3 Hermanas. The new spot at 3260 J St., Suite B., is the project of Dora Saenz, long-time executive chef of Three Sisters, as the Sacramento Bee reports.
On the menu, expect to find dishes like the Plato Mexicano, with one chile relleno, carnitas, tortillas, rice and beans, and soup or salad. Vegetarian versions of enchiladas and fajitas are available, and Saenz eventually plans to offer more dishes from her native Chihuahua.
With a four-star rating out of ten reviews on Yelp, the fresh addition has encountered a warm reception so far.
Mo D., who was the first to review the new spot on June 20, wrote, "Our quesadilla and chile relleno lunches were yummy. The salsa is zippy and flavorful. No liquor license yet, but you can BYOB until their beer and wine license comes through soon!"
"The carnitas were tender and crisp and full of flavor. The red enchilada sauce has a depth of flavor that is rarely found elsewhere with just a touch of heat on the back," Marchel D. added. "The price point is more than fair for the quality of the food."
Intrigued? 3 Hermanas is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Saturdays.)
