Collectively, we ordered three juices, hot and iced coffee, avocado toast, pancakes, make-your-own omelet and breakfast wrap. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented."

Johnny's Takeaway
168 Spring St., West Roxbury

Another spot for American food, Johnny's Takeaway is helmed by longtime Boston chef Johnny Burke (The Butcher Shop, Belly Wine Bar), whose goal is to provide "access to delicious ready-to-eat meals for busy folks and families," the business explains on its website.
As the name suggests, it's takeout only at Johnny's, with orders coming in recyclable fiber containers. Order ahead online from weekly menus released on Sundays, or stop in for a grab-and-go container from the in-store cooler.
Recent menu items have included pan-seared salmon with bulgur and cauliflower pilaf, a turkey and zucchini burger, and a shrimp bowl with buckwheat noodles and house pesto.
With a five-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp, Johnny's Takeaway has been getting positive attention.
Yelper Alex M. wrote, "I bought a few meals for my team at work and everyone was blown away. The turkey burger is unbelievable and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked. I can confidently say that they have the best fried chicken I have ever had."
Erin B. noted, "It tastes fresh and oh so yummy. I love that all of the chef's ingredients are listed on the meal containers themselves. No mystery ingredients. Good, clean food."
Johnny's Takeaway is open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
