1. Wild Rumpus

Topping the list is children's bookstore Wild Rumpus. Located at 2720 W. 43rd St. in Linden Hills, it is the highest rated bookstore in Minneapolis, boasting 4.5 stars out of 95 reviews on Yelp.

The shop has been in business for a quarter of a century and was named the Bookstore of the Year by Publisher's Weekly in 2017, according to the Star Tribune. 

With its focus on young readers, the store schedules events such as field trips, school author visits, summer reading bingo and more. 3. Birchbark Books & Native Arts

Kenwood's Birchbark Books & Native Arts, located at 2115 W. 21st St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bookstore and gift shop, which offers jewelry and more, five stars out of 22 reviews.

The family-owned store has a special focus on Native American books, jewelry, teachings and inclusion, according to the website.
