Looking to check out the best comedy clubs near you?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top comedy clubs in Atlanta, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're in the market for comedy clubs.
1. Dad's Garage Theatre

Topping the list is Dad's Garage Theatre. Located at 569 Ezzard St. in Old Fourth Ward, the improv spot is the highest-rated comedy club in Atlanta, boasting five stars out of 61 reviews on Yelp.
Founded in 1995, the club is a non-profit comedy theater that offers award-winning improv comedy and scripted shows. It also has a fully-stocked bar. (Check here for upcoming shows.)
Yelper Brielle G., who reviewed it on August 17, wrote, "The space is big and clean, and they offer snacks and alcoholic drinks. The show was 90 minutes, so you felt like you got your money's worth. We also like that you get to pick your seats before hand, so you don't feel rushed to arrive early to save a particular seat."
2. Whole World Improv Theatre

Next up is Midtown's Whole World Improv Theatre, situated at 1216 Spring St. NW. With 4.5 stars out of 132 reviews on Yelp, the comedy club and performing art spot has proven to be a local favorite.
The comedy club was founded in 1994 and offers award-winning comedy shows, plus beer and wine. (You can check out upcoming shows here.) It also offers various comedy classes if you want to get in on the fun.
Noel B. said, "Perfect date night! Quick service at the bar! We had boss seating on a personal couch, instead of chairs, in the first couple rows. I give so many props to improv comedians! We had a tough crowd that were giving some far off topics, but the comedians rolled with it and made it hilarious."
3. Atlanta Magic Theater

Old Fourth Ward's Atlanta Magic Theater, located at 444 Highland Ave. NE, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the comedy magic show five stars out of 48 reviews.
Magician Peter Morrison, who formerly headed the highest-rated magic show in San Francisco for six years in a row, performs every Saturday evening with a two-part show, involving close-up and stage magic with mentalism and audience involvement.
Altered D., who reviewed the show on June 17, said, "My hands are literally aching from the amount of clapping I just did; funny thing is that the magician, Peter Morrison, probably deserved even more. The show is filled to the brim with classic magic tricks, illusions and jaw dropping mind reading. He explains that he's been practicing magic his entire life and shows off that dedication in this amazing performance."
4. The Village Theatre

The Village Theatre, a comedy club in Sweet Auburn, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 94 Yelp reviews. Head over to 349 Decatur St., Suite L, to see for yourself.
It's primarily an improv theater with multiple shows happening four nights a week. (See the schedule of shows here.) You can also participate in improv classes, which you can learn more about here.
Chantel W. wrote, "This spot is a smaller, intimate theater with great comedy. The bar serves beer, wine and snacks, and the cast is great. The shows are also affordable and well worth the money!"
5. The Basement Theatre

Finally, over in East Chastain Park, check out The Basement Theatre, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 63 reviews on Yelp. You can find the comedy club and performing art spot at 175 W. Wieuca Road NE, Suite B1.
