A new spot to score salads has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Salata, the fresh arrival is located within Plaza of the Americas at 600 N. Pearl St., Suite H101, in downtown Dallas. The Texas-based chain has four other outposts in the city.

The new salad spot offers diners the ability to create custom salads or wraps, with over 50 toppings to choose from, plus 10 house-made dressings (including chipotle ranch, lemon vinaigrette and ginger lime). There are also proteins to make your salad more filling, such as salmon, shrimp and turkey. You can round out your meal with soup, a cookie and a tea or lemonade. (See the menu here.)

Salata has just one review on Yelp thus far.

Tiffany B., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 1, wrote, "The service was quick and friendly. ... It's great to have another healthy option available in this building. The menu is at the beginning of the line and is very clear about the process and what the symbols mean. The food was very fresh and the wide variety of options was fantastic."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Salata is open from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
