A new bar and eatery has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Sons of Boston, the newcomer is located in the former Tap Trailhouse space at 19 Union St. downtown.

On the menu, offerings range from starters (curried cauliflower, clam chowder) and flatbreads to salads and heartier fare like the grilled chicken sandwich, lobster roll and fish and chips.

Don't miss the build-your-own mac and cheese, which starts with a base cheese sauce of asiago, cheddar, Gouda, manchego and Parmesan. Diners can then add from a long list of mix-ins, with options like lobster, truffle oil, broccoli and fried eggs.

The drinks menu features wine, craft brews, house punch, sangria and cocktails like the West End mule with Deep Eddy cranberry vodka, ginger beer and lime.

It's still early days for the fledgling business — it's got just three reviews on Yelp thus far.

Bill C., who reviewed the new spot on July 26, wrote, "Fun spot right in the middle of everything in Boston. Staff and bartenders are fantastic and friendly. Drinks are good, especially the signature cocktails."

Gina G. added, "Pretty amazing hot buttered lobster roll. I hate mayo and was glad to see they had this option on their menu. Definitely would recommend this place."

Head on over to check it out: Sons of Boston is open from 5 p.m.–2 a.m. daily.
