Craving desserts? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called SAMA Confections, the fresh addition is located at 279 Newbury St. in Back Bay.

SAMA Confections takes an experimental approach to sweets, aiming to present global flavors in fresh packages. The results include treats like coffee crème brûlée, milk pudding with red beans, and coconut panna cotta — all sold in jars. In this new cafe space, you'll find those products alongside artisanal coffees made with beans sourced from farms in Africa, South America and Asia.

The newcomer has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Russell B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 9, wrote, "Nice coffee and dessert. Tried different flavors. Favorite one is macha mousse. The people there are very nice and enthusiastic to introduce their different production places and different tastes of their coffee."

Yelper Shirley W. added, “The matcha mousse was fragrant and had strong matcha flavors, which quickly melted away upon eating. The coffee crème brûlée had a perfect brûlée on the top, which they make upon ordering. We also had two drinks that were very light and refreshing! Everything was at the just-right level of sweetness.”

Head on over to check it out: SAMA Confections is open from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
