Looking to satisfy your appetite for Cajun/Creole fare?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Cajun/Creole eateries around Dallas, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to satisfy your cravings.
1. The Boiling Crab

Topping the list is The Boiling Crab. Located at 10560 Walnut St., Suite 100, in Northeast Dallas, it's the highest rated Cajun/Creole restaurant in Dallas, boasting four stars out of 992 reviews on Yelp.
Serving up seafood boils, the menu has you select your proteins from crawfish, clams, shrimp, lobster, mussels, oysters and various crabs. You then choose a flavor (Rajun Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic sauce or the Whole Sha-Bang!) and a spice level. Finally, you can select sides and extras. Fried seafood baskets are also available. (See the menu here.)
Yelper Anna H., who reviewed it on Sept. 22, wrote, "Holy cow this place was awesome! The staff is attentive and cool about explaining the menu. The seafood was incredible and so tasty. The best crab place around. Just don't come with an attitude about the wait. Chill. It's definitely worth the wait."
2. Bucky Moonshine's

Next up is Deep Ellum's Bucky Moonshine's, situated at 2912 Elm St. With four stars out of 366 reviews on Yelp, the Cajun/Creole and Southern spot has proven to be a local favorite.
If you're there for Cajun fare, look for dishes like the Atchafalaya (blackened or fried catfish topped with choice of shrimp or crawfish etouffee and served over rice), the Canal St. Pasta (spicy linguine tossed with roasted pepper cream sauce with andouille sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, red onions, garlic and shallots topped with blackened chicken) and the Crawfish Enchiladas served with red beans and dirty rice. (See the full menu here.)
Yelper Kayla F. wrote, "This place has some seriously delicious Cajun food! We have tried the gumbo, the etouffee and the Canal Street Pasta. They were all delicious, but the etouffee was fantastic! "
3. Red Claws Crab Shack

Far North's Red Claws Crab Shack, located at 4727 Frankford Road, Suite 349, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bar and Cajun/Creole spot 4.5 stars out of 79 reviews.
The menu offers dishes like the RC Bucket #1 (one pound each of crawfish and shrimp) and the RC Bucket #2 (two pounds each of crawfish and either clams or black mussels), both served with corn, potato and sausage. Or try the catfish basket with fries or hushpuppies. (See the menu here.)
Arash M., who reviewed it on Sept. 18, said, "This place is awesome. I'd argue better than Boiling Crab. Great flavors, stellar service. Food comes out piping hot. And when they say crispy, it's well done and crispy catfish, no weirdly slimy fish. The fries, wings and crab were all delicious and served immediately. Great spot."
4. Rocking Crab

Then there's Rocking Crab, a Cajun/Creole spot that offers seafood and more in Preston Hollow. It's another go-to, with four stars out of 230 Yelp reviews. Head over to 11407 Emerald St., Suite 101, to see for yourself.
The menu offers boiled seafood by the pound, made Louisiana-style with a Cajun sauce. Options include the crawfish, snow crab legs, shrimp, clams and mussels. You can also get a fried basket of catfish or shrimp, as well as chicken wings (with sauce options like lemon pepper, Cajun and garlic Parmesan).
Yelp reviewer Miranda S. said, "First time eating here and I'm in love. The crawfish were huge and prices were good. I really liked their gumbo and rice. The sausage tastes great too. We also had an order of the fried fish basket, mussels, corn and potatoes."
