A new deli has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 1318 E. Pine St. in Capitol Hill, the new arrival is called Dingfelder's Delicatessen.
Dingfelder's features a walk-up window where it sells New York-style sandwiches like pastrami, egg salad and corned beef with slaw and mustard on marbled rye. Sides include chopped chicken liver, potato salad and coleslaw.
Eater Seattle reports diners will have to get their sandwiches to go for the next several months while the deli works to build the sit-down restaurant.
With a five-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, the new deli has already made a good impression.
Yelper Anne C. wrote, "We don't have a lot of Jewish delis in Seattle so this is something to get excited about and appreciate. Sink your teeth into that juicy sandwich. Bite into the crunchy pickles. Savor those flavors."
And Broch B. noted, "This food makes this Long Island kid so happy. Pastrami sandwich is the real deal. The pickles are A+, try the pickled tomatoes too ... it is the Seattle version of Katz's. Go try it out."
Head on over to check it out: Dingfelder's Delicatessen is open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.
