All Square

A newcomer to Hiawatha, All Square is a traditional American spot that's located at 4047 Minnehaha Ave.
According to the restaurant's website, the establishment is first and foremost a civil rights social enterprise, centered on a craft grilled cheese eatery and professional development institute to help the formerly incarcerated find new opportunities and develop careers.
Menu offerings include 10 different types of grilled cheese sandwiches, filled with ingredients ranging from guava jam and crushed almonds to spam and chili cheese fritos. (You can check out the full menu here.)
El Burrito

El Burrito is a Mexican restaurant and bar, that recently opened its second location at 4820 Chicago Ave. in Field.
On the menu, look for authentic Mexican specialties like ceviche de camaron (shrimp cocktail), tamales with green tomatillo sauce filling, and mole casero con pollo — a traditional homestyle mole sauce created with more 32 ingredients (including nuts, peppers and chocolate), cooked into a gravy and served over shredded chicken.
Electric Noodle

Wander over to 705 S. Marquette Ave. in Downtown West and you'll find Electric Noodle, a food truck serving up Asian fusion fare in the form of noodle bowls, sandwiches and sliders.
Look for offerings like the cheeseburger mazemen, cheese fries and tofu filet sandwiches made with Chinese steamed buns. (Visit the food truck's Facebook page here for current whereabouts.)
