Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top bike shops in Charlotte, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're in the market for a new set of wheels. 

1. Charlotte Cycles

Topping the list is Charlotte Cycles. Located at 337 Baldwin Ave. in Cherry, this is the highest-rated bike shop in Charlotte, boasting five stars out of 24 reviews on Yelp. According to its website, the store "is the largest electric bike dealer in the Southeast and specializes in offering electric bikes from trusted brands like Giant, Pedego and Felt."

The business also offers an array of bike maintenance and repair services, including battery pack health analysis for e-bikes, bottom bracket adjustments and replacements, brake pad replacements, cable and housing installations, cassette replacements, chain replacements and more. 2. REI

Next up is outdoor retail giant REI, situated at 9755 Northlake Centre Parkway. With 4.5 stars out of 28 reviews on Yelp, the bike shop in the Northcrest Shopping Center has proven to be a local favorite.

The full-service bike retailer carries a broad assortment of bike brands, components and accessories. Shoppers can also expect a repair shop staffed with "master technicians," all of whom have completed an intensive, hands-on certification program at the Barnett Bicycle Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado, per REI's website.

3. BikeSource

BikeSource, located at 4301-A Park Road in the Park Road Shopping Center, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bike shop four stars out of 36 reviews.

BikeSource has been in the Charlotte market since 1995 and is the largest specialized dealer in the region, according to its website. Visitors can expect brands like Jamis, Santa Cruz, Nirve and Niner, and a service department staffed by professionally trained technicians.
