A new spot to score frozen popsicles has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 2656 Main St., Suite 110, in Deep Ellum, the fresh addition is called Picolé Pops. It has another location in the Bishop Arts District.
The pops are handcrafted, Brazilian-style pops that are filled with fruits and cream. Some are even infused with alcohol. Flavors include Mango Margarita with Chamoy, Coconut with Chocolate Truffle, Cappuccino with Dulce de Leche filling and more.
It has two reviews on Yelp thus far, which gives it 4.5 stars, indicating that it's off to a strong start.
Carmela D., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on Aug. 28, wrote, "I just wanted something refreshing and light, so I went with the strawberry lemonade flavor. However, wanting to also know what the banana Nutella pop tasted like, I convinced my husband to get that one for himself. Both were delicious!"
Tamara P. added, "What's exceptional about this place is their filled popsicles — the combinations are decadent and it's amazing how the fillings maintain a liquid consistency in their thick popsicle shells."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Picolé Pops is open from noon–10 p.m. on Monday–Thursday and Sunday and noon–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
