Craving hot pot? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The newcomer to Allston, called Tasty Pot, is located at 194 Harvard Ave.
The San Jose-based chain offers individual Taiwanese hot pot soups. Start with one of their 12 signature recipes, like the stinky tofu flavor with pork, quail egg and fermented tofu, or the kimchi dumpling with clam, fishballs and imitation crab meat. Then customize it by selecting the spice level, noodle type and extra add-ons (shrimp, soft tofu, lotus root, etc.).
Tasty Pot offers numerous tea drinks, from milk cream black tea to sweet milk tea with boba.
The fresh addition has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Triet K. wrote, "Best hot pot place in town! The soup base is amazing and the customer service is spot on. If you need a recommendation, my go-to is the Taiwanese Spicy while my wife loves the Cheesy Milk pot."
Yelper Thomas W. added, “The layers of flavors were unique and explosive. It is simple yet complex. The staff were very attentive, and the overall lasting palate of flavors made my night.”
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Tasty Pot is open from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. and 5–9:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m.–3 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Friday-Sunday.
