A new dessert bakery has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 2301 N. Central Expressway, Suite 158 , the newcomer is called Beard Papa’s. Specializing in Japanese-style cream puffs, the California chain has expanded nationally and into Canada as well. This is its first location in the Metroplex and second in Texas overall.

The menu offers cream puffs of various flavors, including vanilla, chocolate, green tea, chocolate eclair, strawberry eclair and honey butter. It also has monthly specials, such as hazelnut cream for September or espresso cream for October. (Check out the full menu here.)

With a four-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp so far, the new bakery is getting solid feedback from clientele.

Yelper Karen Y., who was among the first to review it on October 22, wrote, "This was my first cream puff bakery experience, and it didn't disappoint! First, the store smells so good! I'd buy this scent as a candle. ... We got the green tea with green tea filling and the honey butter with vanilla filling."

Marianne C. noted, "The cream puffs are just heavenly. Crunchy on the outside, but soft and heavenly on the inside, while their creamy filling is just the right sweetness."
