Looking to try the top gastropubs around?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top spots in Cincinnati, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to get crave-worthy meals and beers to match.
1. Senate

Topping the list is Senate. Located at 1212 Vine St. in Over-the-Rhine, it is the highest-rated gastropub in Cincinnati, boasting four stars out of 799 reviews on Yelp.
Menu offerings include signature hot dog compilations and bar bites like fresh market oysters, crispy potstickers and poutine — french fries smothered in local cheese curds, braised short rib and gravy. (See the dining menu here.)
A variety of draft and bottled beer is on offer, along with wine and signature cocktails such as the Miso Honey with Kentucky Wild Gin, Licor 43, golden miso, house sunflower orgeat, lemon juice, honey and champagne. (You can check out the drink menu here.)
2. The Littlefield

Next up is Northside's The Littlefield, situated at 3934 Spring Grove Ave. This neighborhood bar specializes in bourbon-based cocktails and regional craft beer "paired with great food, art and cultural offerings," according to its website.
And with 4.5 stars out of 176 reviews on Yelp, the gastropub and New American spot has proven to be a local favorite.
"Located in a rather unassuming part of the city, The Littlefield may just become a regular place I go to for post-dinner drinks," shared Yelper Bora B. "The outdoor area is nice to sit out in, and the inside is pretty cozy as well. Their drink menu has good variety, and their signature cocktails are intriguing and tasty."
3. Nine Giant Brewing

Pleasant Ridge's Nine Giant Brewing, located at 6095 Montgomery Road, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the gastropub and brewery 4.5 stars out of 161 reviews.
On the menu, look for artisan craft beer and made-from-scratch gastropub eats like three-way Cincinnati chili, fried cheese curds with spicy marinara and jumbo lump crab cakes with tarragon aioli. (See the full menu here.)
4. Nicholson's

Nicholson's, a pub and New American spot in downtown Cincinnati, is another go-to, with four stars out of 368 Yelp reviews. Head over to 625 Walnut St. to see for yourself.
The menu features elegant starters and entrees, along with gastroburgers and classic tavern fare such as Shepard's Pie, slow-roasted pot roast and buttermilk fried chicken.
Thirsty? An extensive selection of draft beer is on offer, as well as bourbons, whiskeys, specialty wines, signature cocktails and more. (You can check out the full menu here.)
5. Quán Hapa

Last but not least, check out Over-the-Rhine's Quán Hapa, which has earned four stars out of 347 reviews on Yelp. You can find the gastropub and Asian fusion spot at 1331 Vine St. It serves up Asian street food offerings like Chinese-style spicy noodles, house Japanese pancakes and tuna poke.
Brunch is available on the weekends and features breakfast eats, bubbly mimosas, nitro coffee and the Hapa Mary — a blend of house Thai basil-infused vodka, tomato, Sriracha, kimchi and citrus. (You can view the full menu here.)
