Wondering where the in-the-know crowd is eating and drinking? It's easy to spot lines out the door, but some underlying trends are harder to see.

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which local businesses have been getting extra notice this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Dallas businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month.

Read on to see which spots are extra hot this autumn.

Open since May, this bar and traditional American spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "bars" on Yelp.

Citywide, bars saw review counts increase by a median of 2.3 percent over the past month, but Doc B's Fresh Kitchen saw a 27.3 percent increase, maintaining a convincing 4.5-star rating throughout.

Located at 2021 McKinney Ave. in Oak Lawn, Doc B's Fresh Kitchen serves wine, beers and house cocktails. It also offers a happy hour menu on weekdays from 4–7 p.m.

Among its cocktails, you'll find options like the Dangler with Traverse City whiskey, carrot juice and maple; the Cherry Whiskey Sour with American cherry, lemon, lime and orange; and the Crazy Beautiful with CH vodka, Voveti, elderflower and spiced pear. (See the full drink menu here.)

Tribal All Day Cafe, which debuted in February, is also making waves. Located at 263 N. Bishop Ave. in Oak Cliff, the cafe has seen a 33.3 percent bump in reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2.7 percent for all businesses tagged "breakfast & brunch" on Yelp.

There's more than one hot spot trending in the city's breakfast and brunch category: Arepa TX has seen a 9.8 percent increase in reviews.

Serving breakfast seven days a week, Tribal All Day Cafe features options like overnight oats with almonds, pumpkin seeds, chia and maple; an egg sandwich with arugula, avocado, feta and house hot sauce; and the Migas with black beans, scrambled eggs, brown rice, house hot sauce, pico de gallo and jalapeño cashew cream cheese. (See the full menu here.) Over the past month, it's maintained an excellent five-star rating among Yelpers.

While businesses categorized as "American (Traditional)" on Yelp increased review counts by a median of 2.7 percent over the past month, this Cajun/Creole and traditional American eatery increased its count by 8.1 percent — and kept its rating consistent at three stars.

The well-established spot, located at 318 Medallion Center, is serving up dishes like the Giant Seafood Platter with fresh shrimp, catfish, tilapia, cod, clam strips and stuffed crabs; po'boy sandwiches with seasoned french fries; and crawfish etouffee served over rice.
