
A new chicken shop called Money Chicken has opened its doors. The newcomer is located at 300 E. 7th St. in Central Business District.
Money Chicken comes from the same team behind Pleasantry, Owned by the same restaurant team behind Pleasantry: Daniel Souder, Joanna Kirkendall and chef Evan Hartman.
The menu features buttermilk brined chicken, which is coated with a secret mix of spices that includes Sichuan numbing pepper.Diners have their choice of a chicken sandwich — which includes spicy honey, pickles, and mayo on a potato bun — chicken tenders, or buffalo wings, with their choice of sauces.
With a three-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition has gotten a mixed response from its clientele.
Jason M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 28, wrote, "If you liked Pleasantry's awesome Sichuan numbing pepper chicken, you are definitely going to love this 'spin-off.' It's fast-casual delicious chicken in a clean, modern environment."
And Yelper Ed C., noted, "Great for a quick, high quality chicken sandwich for lunch. Very unique flavor, which starts off sweet and then has some pleasant heat. Get the cabbage slaw, I could not stop eating it!"
