Interested in trying some new American spots in Plano? You're in luck: we've found the freshest businesses to fill the bill. Here are the newest places to check out the next time you're in the mood for American food.
Rodeo Goat
641 Powell Lane

Rodeo Goat is a spot to score burgers and beer. This is the restaurant group's fourth location, including the original eatery in Fort Worth and Dallas and Houston outposts.
Burgers include the Chaca Oaxaca (beef and chorizo patty, avocado, pico de gallo, fried egg, queso fresco and Tabasco mayo) and the Salted Sow (beef and Italian sausage patty, prosciutto, beefsteak tomato, basil pesto, mozzarella and balsamic mayo). Order the Cheese Fries Surprise as an appetizer — fries buried under chili, cheese, bacon and jalapeños — and finish up with a milkshake, which you can spike with alcohol. (See the full menu here.)
The eatery regularly comes up with new burgers, pitting them against one another in a burger battle. Each order equals one vote, with the winner possibly earning a spot on the regular menu.
Rodeo Goat has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 18 reviews on Yelp.
Curtis M., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on Oct. 10, wrote, "Casual atmosphere, cold drinks and awesome burgers. The chips and queso are a meal themselves. I had the the Hot Bastard and the flavor of the spices hit just right: subtle, warm and then fiery!"
Sam W. noted, "A great addition to East Plano! Almost 20 burgers on this menu, with a full bar and milkshakes and other stuff too."
Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Rodeo Goat is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Olive Burger
5720 State Highway 121

Olive Burger is a spot to score burgers, gyros and more. This is its second location after the one in Richardson. A third location is also in the works.
The menu has options like the Olive Cheese Burger with sauteed onions and olives; the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with Swiss cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms and bell peppers; and the Chicken Wrap with lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing. Sides include onion rings, tater tots and sweet potato fries. Pair your meal with a chocolate or vanilla milkshake. (See the full menu here.)
Yelp users are still warming up to Olive Burger, which currently holds 3.5 stars out of 11 reviews on the site.
Yelper Gar S., who reviewed Olive Burger on September 27, wrote, "Delicious! We have been to the Olive Burger in Richardson, but now they opened this one closer to where we live. From what I can tell, they use Mediterranean-type spices in the burger patties and it is really good. A burger, fries and a drink is about $10."
K. S. noted, "Only one complaint: undercooked beef patty for those that don't like pink hamburger meat. Stopped going there after they ignored my requests to cook the patty throughout."
Olive Burger is open from 10:30 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 10:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
Moxie's Grill & Bar
8451 Parkwood Blvd.

Moxie's Grill & Bar is a sports bar, lounge and traditional American spot. The Canadian chain has only recently expanded into the United States, and so far has opened all three outposts in Texas.
Dishes include the Chipotle Mango Chicken with a sweet & smoky dry drub, lemon quinoa, seasonal vegetables, avocado and salsa fresca; the prime ribeye steak with seasonal vegetables and your choice of roasted baby potatoes, lemon quinoa or a loaded baked potato; and the Loaded Burger with aged white cheddar, red relish, pickled mustard seed mayo, sauteed mushrooms, bacon and barbecue sauce. (See the full menu here.)
Moxie's Grill & Bar currently holds four stars out of 29 reviews on Yelp, indicating positive reviews.
Yelper Bradyn P., who reviewed it on September 29, wrote, "Moxie's has to be one of Plano's newest hottest restaurants in town. I walked in and discovered this super modern fun spot that I could have some great drinks with my friends. And their nachos are huge and delicious, followed up by one of the best steak dinners I've ever had."
Stacey M. added, "Nice modern atmosphere with good overhead music, great service and the food was very good. We loved it!"
Moxie's Grill & Bar is open from 11 a.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
