Hungry? A new neighborhood Mediterranean restaurant has you covered. Called Maya's Modern Mediterranean, the newcomer is located at 9540 Garland Road, Suite C362, in the Casa Linda Plaza in Northeast Dallas.
In an effort to produce healthier dishes, the restaurant eschews the traditional frying process, instead air-baking its falafel, fries and chicken strips.
On the menu, you'll find items like the kafta plate (hand-rolled beef kebabs served with hummus, pita and two sides), the shawarma bowl (roast chicken served over choice of romaine lettuce or turmeric rice) and the falafel pita (filled with chopped salad and served with fries). With a 4.5-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, Maya's Modern Mediterranean has been warmly received by patrons.
Samantha J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 9, wrote, "Amazing food! Best Mediterranean meat I've been able to find in Dallas! Good portions and extremely tasty sauces. Service is wonderful, staff is super friendly."
