Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top bike shops in Columbia, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture the next time you're in the market for a new ride.

1. REI

Topping the list is REI. The Seattle-based sporting goods and outdoor gear retailer sells bikes of all kinds, including mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrids and electrics. It also has a wide array of gear, from helmets to car racks. The store also offers classes on how to ride a bike for kids and adults.

Located at 6100 Dobbin Road, it is the highest-rated bike shop in Columbia, boasting four stars out of 33 reviews on Yelp.

2. Race Pace Bicycles

Next up is Race Pace Bicycles, situated at 6925 Oakland Mills Road, Suite P. The locally owned shop with outlets around the region offers parts, accessories and complete bikes from brands like Scott, Trek, Cannondale, Felt and Heller. There are road, mountain, folding, electric and kids bicycles for sale. The staff also does repairs and service. 

With four stars out of 30 reviews on Yelp, the store has proven to be a local favorite.

3. Princeton Sports

Princeton Sports, located at 10730 Little Patuxent Parkway, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving it four stars out of 27 reviews. It's been serving the region as a bicycle shop since 1936 with a large selection of bicycles from Cannondale, Specialized and Giant, and comfort models from Biria.

The store carries bicycle parts, accessories and clothing, and the service department does repairs. In addition to bicycles, Princeton Sports sells gear for skiing, snowboarding, tennis and swimming.
