Owner and esthetician Rachael Rosewood studied at the Euro Institute of Skin Care and the Washington Laser Institute, later becoming a certified acne specialist, the business explains on its website. Rosewood's focus is to offer corrective skin care in a spa-like environment.

Black Fleet Brewing Taproom & Kitchen

New to 2302 Fawcett Ave. is Black Fleet Brewing Taproom & Kitchen. And with five stars out of nine reviews on Yelp, the brewpub has been a hit thus far.
The (Tacoma) News Tribune reports that the new 10,000-square-foot establishment features a 10-barrel brewing system, a downstairs kitchen and a large dining room.
On its website, the brewery says its menu and flavors "are built to blend comfort and adventure with each pint and plate while using Pacific Northwest-inspired ingredients."
Zeeks Pizza

Then there's the newest Zeeks Pizza at 1702 Pacific Ave. Established in 1993, the business now has more than a dozen pizzerias in the region.
Look for pizzas like the Puget Pounder with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, mushrooms and black olives; the Buffalo Soldier with buffalo chicken, peppers, jalapeños, Gorgonzola and cilantro on a ranch base; or the Yeti with chicken, bacon, tomato, red onion and Parmesan on an Alfredo base.
