It’s time for another roundup of notable crimes reported to the Tenderloin Police station. All details come from SFPD reports unless otherwise noted. 

Arrest made in metal pipe attack

A 22-year-old man got into a verbal argument with a 50-year-old man around 6:20 p.m. on October 11th inside a store on the unit block of 6th Street (near Market).

The older man sprayed the victim with pepper spray before hitting him with a metal pipe. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect was arrested. 

Man robbed at home by two suspects

Around 5:00 p.m. on October 3rd, two men and a woman pushed their way into a 79-year-old man’s apartment on the 700 block of Ellis Street (at Larkin) and stole his jacket and money. The suspects have not been identified. 

Man punched and robbed by two men

Two men said to be in their thirties approached a 26-year-old man near the intersection of Golden Gate and Hyde streets around 8:30 p.m. on September 30th. The two suspects punched the victim, stole his phone and fled on foot. No arrests have been made. 

Man punched, robbed by 20-something couple

A 53-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Golden Gate and Leavenworth streets around 3:05 p.m. on September 30th when a man said to be in his twenties came up and punched him. 

The suspect, who was accompanied by a woman also said to be in her twenties, stole the victim’s phone, jewelry, slippers, and wallet. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspects remain at large. 

Robber flees on bike after snatching phone

Around 7:01 a.m. on September 30th, a man said to be around thirty years old tried to grab a 43-year-old man’s phone from his hand near the intersection of 8th and Market streets. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground, snatched his phone, fled on his bicycle, and has not been identified.

Man assaulted, robbed at 6th and Market

A 63-year-old man was assaulted and robbed around 2:00 a.m. on September 29th when exiting a business at the corner of Sixth and Market streets. The suspect, a man said to be around 60, stole the victim’s wallet and fled northbound on Taylor Street.

Couple robs man of cellphone

Just before 1:00 a.m. on September 29th, a man and a woman both said to be 35 years old approached a 28-year-old man near the intersection of Leavenworth and Geary streets and demanded his property. The male suspect stole the victim’s cellphone before he and the female suspect fled south on Leavenworth.

Man injured in punching robbery 

Around 11:20 p.m. on September 28th, a 22-year-old man on the unit block of Turk Street was punched by two men until he forfeited his cellphone, backpack, and cash. The two men fled and the suspect was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Older man knocked to ground in robbery

A man approached an 85-year-old man around 11:20 a.m. on September 28th near the intersection of Cyril Magnin and Market streets, took the victim’s phone out of his pocket and grabbed his necklace off his neck. The victim fell to the ground, and the suspect fled the scene.

Teen’s backpack stolen in snatch-and-run

On September 28th, a 14-year-old male was walking near the intersection of Geary and Hyde streets at 6:04 p.m. when a man grabbed his backpack. A struggle ensued, but the suspect was able to snatch the teen's backpack and flee northbound on Hyde. No arrest has been made.

Man knocked unconscious in two-on-one attack

Two men said to be in their late twenties assaulted a 57-year-old man on the 400 block of Jones street (near Ellis) around 11:56 p.m. on September 28th. The victim was knocked to the ground and lost consciousness.

Woman hit on head with golf club

A 36-year-old woman and an unknown female suspect got into a verbal argument near the intersection of Ellis and Jones streets around 10 p.m. on September 27th. The suspect hit the woman in the head with a golf club and fled in an unknown direction. 

Argument escalates to metal pipe attack

Around 3:30 p.m. on September 26th, a 53-year-old man and a man said to be in his sixties started fighting on the 100 block of Eddy Street (near Taylor). The argument got physical and the older man hit the victim with a metal pipe before fleeing the area.
