Combining Origami Art & Product Design

First, the Embassy of Japan is presenting a special lecture to coincide with both its origami exhibition, entitled "Folding the Future: Theoretical Origami Devices," and World Origami Days, held each year from Oct. 24–Nov. 11.
Professors Larry Howell and David Morgan of Brigham Young University will show how the ancient art form is being used in product design applications from spacecraft to surgical instruments. The event is free, but your registration is required.

WWI Centennial Concert

Also this week, the New Orchestra of Washington, Washington Master Chorale and Musica Viva NY will commemorate 100 years since the end of World War I with a co-commission from American composer Joseph Turrin.
The program also features works by Holst and Ravel, as well as a song by popular rock band Radiohead that honors Harry Patch, who was the last British survivor of the WWI trenches.

'Comedy Magic Society Presents' show
