Empanada fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 3749 Nicollet Ave. in southwest Minneapolis' Kingfield neighborhood, the new addition is called Boludo.
The recently opened spot offers pizzas, combo platters and salads in addition to its signature empanadas. Look for custom empanadas like the Carne with beef piccadilly and olives; the Jamon Y Queso with ham, mozzarella and spices; or the Pollo with peppers and oregano. Here's the full menu.
With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Boludo has already made a good impression.
Yelper Zach V. wrote, "The soft opening included four types of empanadas and four gluten-free alternatives ... The chimichurri was unreal and topped on all the empanadas. I'd put it on almost any (savory) dish."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Boludo is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
