A new cafe, serving sandwiches, breakfast and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Shayna's Place, the new addition is located at 1868 Sylvan Ave., Suite D150, in Eagle Ford.
The menu's main attraction are the sandwiches, which include the Villager (tarragon chicken salad mixed with celery, tomato and romaine), the East Matuna (albacore tuna salad with herb mayo, celery, red onion, sliced cucumber sunflower seeds and romaine) and the Custer's Last Ham (Black Forest ham, cheddar cheese, Vidalia onion, pickle, romaine, maple bacon chutney and herb mayo). The newcomer has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp.
Yelper Sereena J., who was among the first to review it on Nov. 6, said, "I have found my new favorite sandwich place! Shayna's Place is beautiful on the inside, with gorgeous wood seating and plenty of room. Once you arrive, you go up to the counter and order what you'd like. I ordered the Traveler sandwich, which has curried chicken salad, golden raisins and a mango chutney with crisp lettuce on ciabatta bread. ... I loved it so much I bought another one for lunch the next day!"
