A new Mexican eatery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The newcomer to Midtown Minneapolis is located at 1520 E. Lake St. and called Taqueria y Birrieria Las Cuatro Milpas.

Expect traditional Mexican and Latin American options like chicken and beef tacos; a spicy stew with goat meat called birria; and milanesa (breaded meat fillet) with salad.

With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the restaurant is off to a promising start.

Gilbert A., who reviewed it on Oct. 28, wrote, "I chose the birria in soup style for $13. It came with onions, cilantro and tortillas. ... It came in a clay bowl, which in my opinion gives it a better authentic look and keeps it warmer. The birria was juicy with lots of meat."

And Francisco D. wrote, "These are the best tacos in the Twin Cities. I really recommend the birria."

The restaurant's hours were not available at the time of publication.
