Veronneau at Blues Alley

On Tuesday, locally-based world-jazz band Veronneau returns to Blues Alley. Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau leads musicians from the UK, U.S. and Brazil in multi-lingual, acoustic music. The seasonal show will feature music from France, Brazil and beyond, including tracks from their "Snowtime" recording. These tickets are also half price.

Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic

On Saturday, the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic (WMP) showcases "Music Made in America" with half-price tickets. Trombonist Adam Stokes will solo in Robert Tindle’s "Concerto for Bass Trombone and Orchestra." Then, the WMP will tackle works by two contemporary American composers. Joan Tower's "Fanfare for the Uncommon Women No. 1" celebrates America using fragments from "America the Beautiful." And Jennifer Higdon's "All Things Majestic" explores the natural wonders of the Grand Tetons.
