Our Voice Matters

Screening of 'Operation Pedro Pan: The Cuban Children's Exodus'

Next on the agenda is this free screening of the award-winning documentary film, "Operation Pedro Pan: The Cuban Children's Exodus." The movie illustrates the story of more than 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban children that left their homeland from 1960–1962 in the largest recorded child refugee exodus in the Western Hemisphere. Interviews with the participants cover life in Cuba before 1959, the drastic changes brought about by the revolution, their unaccompanied exodus from the island, and their arrival and adaptation to life in the U.S.

Black Food Through Art and Photography Exhibition and Dinner
