A new grocery store has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 2049 Coit Road, the newcomer is called zTAO Marketplace.
It's an Asian grocery store that sells specialty foods and items that are difficult to find in traditional supermarkets. For instance, expect to find exotic fruits like dragon fruit and green bitter melon, buffalo fish steak, banana shank and pork feet. There is also a food court located inside for shoppers who are hungry.
It's gotten off to an uneven start thus far, with a three-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Jack F., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 15, wrote, "It's cool to walk around and check out the much-awaited digs. ... I'm just glad this is finally open now."
Linda R. added, "After months of renovation, this supermarket is finally open. Good produce section, but the prices seem a little higher than 99 Ranch. There was not a good variety of seafood and the bakery seems small. The food court was bustling."
Head on over to check it out: zTAO Marketplace is open from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 9 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
