If you've got Mediterranean on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The fresh arrival to Far North, called Chop House Gyro, is located at 5301 Alpha Road. The new restaurant serves authentic Mediterranean fast food that is all organic and uses all natural halal meat, according to its website.
Select from a menu of signature shawarma rolls, salad bowls and gyro bowls. Go for a light meal with the signature lamb gyro salad, which has mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, red cabbage, onions, radish, cilantro, zesty lemon dressing and white sauce. Or opt for a Tex Mex shawarma roll, made of grilled chicken, bell peppers, onions, cheese and chipotle sauce. (See the full menu here.)
The new addition has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Syed I., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 30, wrote, “I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was awesome. I was able to customize it with whatever I wanted on top. The sauces are also available on the side, which is great.”
And Andrew M. wrote, "I had the lamb gyro roll and it was very good and tasted fresh. "
