A new bar and traditional American spot has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Piggy Bank, the fresh addition is located at 2841 Hennepin Ave. South in Lowry Hill East.

This spot offers freshly ground burgers, flatbreads, chicken sandwiches and more, and more than several vegan options. You'll find the Loosey Juicy Burger, a loose meat sandwich with a fried egg and American cheese. Or try the Impossible Vegan Shroom Burger, with caramelized onions, arugula, vegan cheese and crimini mushrooms. Add a signature sauce, like the Momma Mia, with garlic and Parmesan. (Check out the full menu options here.)

Piggy Bank has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Amanda M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 19, wrote, "Many bars now offer a veggie burger or the Impossible Burger, which is very appreciated. But you have gone above and beyond! Multiple vegan burgers, so many toppings! I had the Shroom Burger and it was so amazing. Sloppy and gooey and just right. The seasoning on the fries was delightful!"

Yelper Matt F. added, “A nice, low-key spot with a decent part of their menu dedicated to vegan food. Many of the vegan options are for variations of the Impossible Burger. My friend and I both got the Impossible Burger, hers with bacon and mine with mushrooms. The burgers were great.”

Head on over to check it out: Piggy Bank is open from 3–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 3 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.–2 a.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.–11 p.m. on Sunday.
