Hoodline rounded up Phoenix's most popular cupcake sellers, using Yelp data and our own methodology, to help you decide where to spend your cupcake dollars on National Cupcake Day, also known as Dec. 15.
Choose wisely.
1. Urban Cookies Bake Shop

Topping the list is Urban Cookies Bake Shop. Located at 2325 N. Seventh St. in Encanto, the bakery, which offers cupcakes, doughnuts and more, is the highest rated cupcake spot in Phoenix, boasting 4.5 stars out of 516 reviews on Yelp.
Here, you will find cupcakes in 16 different flavors, including holiday delights, which are listed on the menu. For the Christmas season, they have sweet options like the gluten-free chocolate peppermint or hot cocoa. On the regular menu, there are options like Brown Velvet, German Chocolate and Birthday, among others. If you are looking for more than just cupcakes, Urban Cookies also sells cookies, doughnuts, dessert bars, ice cream and cakes. Pair any of the pastries with coffee, espresso or tea.
Yelper Lizandro A., who reviewed it on Nov. 16, said, "One of my favorites in Phoenix. You've got to try them and you'll keep coming back. Awesome and delicious cupcakes. Staff is very friendly."
2. A Bakeshop

Camelback East's A Bakeshop, located at 6007 N. 16th St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bakery, which offers cupcakes, custom cakes and more, 4.5 stars out of 164 reviews.
It offers various pastries, including cakes that can double as cupcakes. They list 18 signature flavors for cupcakes on the menu, which includes triple vanilla, salted caramel, strawberry, berry cream and Oreo. Cupcakes come in large and mini sizes. If you are looking to pile on more sweets on National Cupcake Day, it also sells macarons, cookies, oatmeal creme pies, frosted shortbread, cheesecake and cannolis.

3. Nothing Bundt Cakes

Nothing Bundt Cakes, a bakery that offers desserts and cupcakes in Ahwatukee Foothills, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 134 Yelp reviews. Head over to 4722 E. Ray Road, Suite 14, to see for yourself.
The chain bakery makes bundt cakes. For National Cupcake Day, trim one down and get a buntini, which are bite-sized bundt cakes sold by the dozen. They come in nine different flavors, including peppermint chocolate chip, red velvet and pecan praline. To view the entire menu, click here.

4. Asahi Bakery

Lastly, over in Camelback East, check out Asahi Bakery, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 90 reviews on Yelp. You can find the bakery, which offers cupcakes, macarons and more, at 6056 N. 16th St.
It sells cupcakes, which come in chocolate or vanilla, by the half-dozen. Asahi also makes an assortment of cakes, puffs, sponge cake rolls, macarons, buns, cookies and more in the bakery. (Check out the full menu here.)
