PechaKucha Night San Antonio: Vol. 32

Come hear six presenters each discuss a topic of their choice for 6 minutes and 20 seconds, accompanied by a slide show of 20 images. Presenters will be Alex Paredes, cocinero; Elizabeth Johnson, chef and wellness advocate; Justin Parr, neo-traditionalist; Kelly O'Connor, artist; Naomi Shihab Nye, writer; and Robert Rivard, co-founder and author.

The ticket price includes appetizers from local restaurants. Appetizers will be served at the welcome portion of the event beginning at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start at 7:30 p.m.

ARTS San Antonio presents 'The Nutcracker'

Watch Pyotr Tchaikovsky's classic ballet "The Nutcracker," performed by the American Midwest Ballet and San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet companies. Four performances will be held at the Lila Cockrell Theatre this week.

When: Thursday, Dec. 20, Friday, Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 22, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

'Holiday at Hogwarts: The Tour'

Her Sins Burlesque & Cabaret will perform a theatrical show based on the characters from the "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" book series. The event will also include Harry Potter trivia, a raffle, games, themed cocktails and a costume contest, according to the event's Yelp page. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the show will start at 9 p.m.

'Destino San Antonio'

Visit the Briscoe Western Art Museum for a new exhibit that features stereographs of San Antonio from the 1860s to about 1930. "Destino San Antonio" includes 3-D image viewers, historic maps and documentaries.

The museum's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free for ages 12 and younger and active military members and their families.

When: Open daily until Monday, Jan. 21, 5 p.m.
