The Favourite

This must-see film snagged 10 Oscar nominations, including Olivia Colman's turn as Queen Anne for best actress. Set in 18th century England, this dark comedy centers on the close relationship between the ailing Queen and Sarah Churchill. That relationship is threatened by the arrival of new servant Abigail Hill, who happens to be Sarah's cousin.

With a 93 percent critical approval rating and an audience score of 62 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "The Favourite" has gotten a lot of positive attention since its release on Dec. 14. The consensus is that "'The Favourite' sees Yorgos Lanthimos balancing a period setting against rich, timely subtext — and getting roundly stellar performances from his well-chosen stars."

In addition to a nod for best picture, the film's stars — Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz — have all been nominated for Oscars.

You can catch it at CMX Brickell City Centre (701 S. Miami Ave.) and Cinépolis Coconut Grove (3015 Grand Ave.) through Wednesday, Jan. 30. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

Stan & Ollie

With their golden era long behind them, comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy embark on a variety hall tour of Britain and Ireland. Despite the pressures of a hectic schedule, and with the support of their wives Lucille and Ida — a formidable double act in their own right — the pair's love of performing, as well as for each other, endures as they secure their place in the hearts of their adoring public

With a 92 percent critical approval rating and an audience score of 62 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Stan & Ollie" has garnered plenty of praise since its release on Dec. 28. Per the site's overview of critic reviews, "'Stan & Ollie' pays tribute to a pair of beloved entertainers with an affectionate look behind the scenes — and a moving look at the burdens and blessings of a creative bond."

See it at CMX Brickell City Centre (701 S. Miami Ave.) and Cinépolis Coconut Grove (3015 Grand Ave.) through Wednesday, Jan. 30. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

Green Book

Don't miss this Oscar-nominated film starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen. In 1962, Tony Lip, an Italian-American chauffeur from the Bronx, and Don Shirley, a jazz pianist, embark on an unlikely friendship. Shirley hires Lip to drive him on tour through the Deep South. In the Jim Crow era, they must rely on a guide called The Negro Motorist Green Book to find Shirley safe accommodations.

With a critical approval rating of 82 percent and an audience score of 94 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Green Book" has proven a solid option since its release on Nov. 16. Per the site's overview of critic reviews, "'Green Book' takes audiences on a surprisingly smooth ride through potentially bumpy subject matter, fueled by Peter Farrelly's deft touch and a pair of well-matched leads."

The film has been nominated for five Oscars, including best picture and actor.

At Eternity's Gate

Famed but tormented artist Vincent van Gogh spends his final years in Arles, France, painting masterworks of the natural world that surrounds him.

With a critical approval rating of 80 percent and an audience score of 51 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "At Eternity's Gate" is well worth a watch. According to the site's overview of critic reviews, "Led by mesmerizing work from Willem Dafoe in the central role, 'At Eternity's Gate' intriguingly imagines Vincent Van Gogh's troubled final days."

Bohemian Rhapsody

You can still catch this rock biopic, which was recently nominated for five Oscars, including best actor. In 1970, singer Freddie Mercury — along with guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bass guitarist John Deacon — take the music world by storm when they form the rock 'n' roll band Queen. Hit songs — from "Bohemian Rhapsody" to "We Will Rock You" — become instant classics.

But when Mercury's increasingly wild lifestyle starts to spiral out of control, Queen soon faces its greatest challenge yet — finding a way to keep the band together amid the success and excess.

With a 62 percent critical approval rating and an audience score of 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is well worth a watch. The consensus: "'Bohemian Rhapsody' hits a handful of high notes, but as an in-depth look at a beloved band, it offers more of a medley than a true greatest hits collection."

It has also been nominated for five Oscars, including best picture and actor.
