A new bar and restaurant has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 959 Bearses Way in Hyannis, the new arrival is called Gannon's Tavern.

Gannon's serves up New American fare for happy hour, dinner and late-night supper during the week, and adds brunch on the weekends. In the evening, snack on shareable plates like smoked pork belly sliders or shrimp and chorizo nachos. Or, for a heartier meal, there are burgers — including a black bean patty for vegans, sandwiches, and a selection of seafood and meat dishes— like the swordfish milanese and the Hawaiian-style ribeye steak. Pair those plates with a wide selection of wines, beers or liquors.

Gannon's Tavern has received generally positive reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp.

Colleen E., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 5, wrote, "Lots of choices on the menu. We went for barbecue sliders and chowder. Both were amazing. The barbecue sauce was perfect on the sliders, and the chowder had great flavor and seasoning. It was nice, thick and creamy."

And Ashley G. wrote, "I am not a wings fan, but those were perfectly smoked with a side of some spicy sauce. Bone licking good. For our entrées, I loved the twist on the swordfish, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The desserts are all handmade in-house as well."

Head on over to check it out: Gannon's Tavern is open from 4:30 p.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday, 4:30 p.m.–1 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.–1 a.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m.–midnight on Sunday.
