Hungry? A new neighborhood Chinese spot has you covered. Located in the former JS Stew House space at 10271 Torre Ave. in South Blaney, the newcomer is called Qin-Tang Charm.

It serves high-end X'ian cuisine in its newly renovated interior. Main dishes include hand-pulled noodles in chili oil, fried pork skin and meatball soup, and beef in vinegar. Among the "chef's specials" are fish-shaped pastries with sweet and salty egg yolk filling, and cookies shaped like calligraphy brushes.

Tea is what's to drink — or try the house-made choujiu, a fermented alcoholic beverage brewed from rice. The eatery currently accepts payment only in cash.

Qin-Tang Charm has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.

Dorothy C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on January 2, wrote, "Probably some of the best and most authentic Xi'an cuisine we've had in the South Bay. The menu is still in flux, but all the items we tried were delicious and prepared exceptionally well."

Yelper Fraulein C. Y. advised, “Go early! Otherwise, expect a long line of people ahead of you. They don't take reservations. Keep that in mind because it's a small restaurant with very little room to get between tables.”

Qin-Tang Charm is open for dinner from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday-Monday, and for lunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on weekends and 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. (It's closed on Tuesdays.)
