A new nail salon, offering coffee, tea and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Verbena Parlor + Social House, the newcomer is located at 2626 Howell St., Suite 166, in Oak Lawn.
This nail bar and salon specializes in non-toxic and organic nail services, according to its website. Expect to find a variety of manicure and pedicure packages free of formaldehyde, parabens and other chemicals.
Look for the Happy Hour manicure, which includes an organic lemon verbena essential oil soak, nail shaping, cuticle care, scrub, massage, aromatherapy-infused hot towel treatment and more. At the cafe, look for refreshments like coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice and more.
The new nail salon has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Sylvia A., who was the first Yelper to review the spot on Dec. 20, wrote, "All the nail technicians are super knowledgeable and thorough. They give you tips to what you can do to take better care for your nails. The environment is pristine and all the equipment is sterilized."
Marsha S., added, "Did I mention that you get a complimentary drink with your service? If the cute environment didn't hook you, then the free drink, sweet staff and jewelry that gives back should."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. The salon is open from 8 a.m.–7 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
