
In search of a new favorite fitness spot?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top fitness spots around Phoenix, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're in the market for fitness.
1. Camelback Mountain

Topping the list is Camelback Mountain. Located at 5701 N. Echo Canyon Parkway in Camelback East, the park, which offers hiking and climbing opportunities, is the highest rated fitness spot in Phoenix, boasting 4.5 stars out of 578 reviews on Yelp.
Ben H., who reviewed it on Oct. 27, said, "Not for amateurs! Camelback Mountain is the best hike in Phoenix. It has two trails: Cholla (hard) and Echo (harder). Cholla trail is a steady incline and is difficult aerobically. Echo is steep and requires upper extremities. Bring water! ... The view from the top is worth the struggle."
2. Pure Barre

Next up is Camelback East's Pure Barre, situated at 4219 E. Indian School Road, Suite 101. With five stars out of 69 reviews on Yelp, the barre class spot has proven to be a local favorite.
Yelper Meghan L. noted, "I love the consistency and energy of the teachers at the Phoenix studio. You can tell they are well trained and are passionate about what they do!"
3. Metta Yoga

Camelback East's Metta Yoga, located at 4041 E. Thomas Road, Suite 106, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the yoga, aerial fitness and skin care spot five stars out of 57 reviews.
Cara T. wrote, "Everyone is super nice and accommodating. I'm not very flexible at all, but love yoga—all the instructors have been super helpful in that regard. The studio is beautiful and relaxing. Instructors vary widely in terms of style and pace, which is nice."
4. Desert Song Healing Arts Center

Desert Song Healing Arts Center, a massage, yoga and tai chi spot in Camelback East, is another much-loved go-to, with five stars out of 56 Yelp reviews. Head over to 3232 N. 20th St. to see for yourself.
Yelper H A., who reviewed it on Nov. 30, said, "Desert Song is the best yoga there is. The instructors are the real deal. I have been taking classes there for some time and have never had a bad class. I also occasionally get massages there—and, again, you cannot go wrong."
5. Sumits Yoga

Over in Deer Valley, check out Sumits Yoga, which has earned five stars out of 47 reviews on Yelp. You can find the hot yoga spot at 350 E. Bell Road, Suite 10.
Zandra P. said, "Absolutely love this yoga studio! Clean, happy and always professional. Wonderful teachers who make you feel welcome."
6. Jabz Boxing Fitness for Women

Finally, there's Jabz Boxing Fitness for Women, a Paradise Valley favorite with five stars out of 46 reviews. Stop by 13610 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 23, to hit up the circuit training gym, personal training and boxing spot the next time you're looking to get a good workout.
Lauri M., who reviewed it on Dec. 10, said, "Definitely a great workout! Highly motivating. Friendly instructors. No pressure for a new person like me to keep up with the pros. They encourage you to go at your own pace, but challenge you just enough to help keep you going."
