1. Trieste Café

Topping the list is Trieste Café. Located at 10 S. Fifth St. in Downtown West, the deli, Mediterranean and Greek spot is the highest rated budget-friendly Greek restaurant in Minneapolis, boasting 4.5 stars out of 131 reviews on Yelp. 

In 2018, Trieste Cafe was featured as one of 25 reasons to visit Minneapolis, according to the Star Tribune. At this vegetarian-friendly hole-in-the-wall spot, expect to find grape leaves, gyro sandwiches and platters, falafel, kebabs, Greek salads and more.

Yelper Matt C. wrote, "Great lunch spot. I've been here a number of times for lunch and probably never would have unless someone brought me. It's a hidden gem downtown and the food is delicious. They cut up the vegetables fresh when you order your food and the serving sizes are generous. Don't miss out!"

2. Sphynx Café

Next up is Marcy Holmes's Sphynx Café, situated at 813 Fourth St. SE. With 4.5 stars out of 75 reviews on Yelp, the cafe, Mediterranean and Greek spot has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for a budget-friendly option. 

On the menu, look for diverse starters like buffalo wings, avocado hummus or fattoush salad. For heartier meals, expect to find a variety of wraps, kebabs, burgers, pita pizza and more. 

Andrea B. said, "This is the best place. The price is right and the food is exceptional. The customer service is always top notch. I highly recommend the hummus, shawarma and the hot wings. Also, the fries are amazing."

3. Soho Cafe

East Isles's Soho Cafe, located at 2532 Hennepin Ave., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the cheap Greek and Italian spot four stars out of 74 reviews. 

The spot offers a diverse selection of Greek and traditional American fare. On the menu, expect to find pita sandwiches along with gyro, kebab and falafel combination platters. There's also pizza, pasta, hoagies, wings and more.

4. Pita King

Pita King, a Middle Eastern spot in Seward, is another much-loved, inexpensive go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 22 Yelp reviews. Head over to 2328 E. Franklin Ave. to see for yourself. 

Pita King offers gyros, kebab and chicken platters, falafel, hummus and more. Heavy Table rated the spot's signature baklava as one of the best in Minneapolis.
