Crime reports in Tysons saw an overall bump last month, after a previous decline, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.

Incidents rose by about 14 percent, from 201 in December to 230 in January.

The offenses most on the rise last month were theft and vandalism. Theft rose from 95 reported incidents in December to 112 in January. Vandalism incidents went from two to nine for the month, or about a 350 percent increase.

While somewhat smaller categories, there was also a considerable percentage increase last month in robbery, from zero incidents per month to two, and in burglary, from two to three. 

There were 13 assault reports last month, and one shooting incident. Assault incidents remained at about the same level as in the previous month, as did shooting reports.

Mondays, Thursdays and Tuesdays saw the most crime incidents last month. The largest increase from the previous month occurred on Tuesdays, Fridays and Wednesdays, while incidents on Saturdays, Mondays and went down. After midnight, late afternoon and evening saw the most crime last month on average each day.
